Notre Dame alum to speak at Indiana Black Expo of Elkhart award ceremony
ELKHART, Ind. – A Notre Dame alum will be the featured speaker at this year's Trailblazer Awards for the Indiana Black Expo of Elkhart.
According to our reporting partners at the Elkhart Truth, the Elkhart Chapter of the Indiana Black Expo will host the fifth Trailblazer Awards on Friday.
The awards will be held at Elkhart Memorial High School at 6 p.m. with keynote speaker, Reggie Brooks, featured at the event.
Brooks is a former running back at Notre Dame and the Washington Redskins, and is currently the director of student-athlete alumni relations and engagement at the university.
Over 80 students will be honored for their achievements at their respective schools in the district.
The Indiana Black Expo as a whole is celebrating 50 years of service this year.
The organization says it aims to provide networking, educational, career and cultural opportunities to the community and its members.
