Elkhart man faces charges after hitting a police car

ELKHART, Ind. -- An Elkhart man is facing charges after police say he hit a police car.

Royce Myers is charged with battery and OWI.

Police were called to a home on Princeton Street on Saturday for a battery report.

And that is when officers say Myers back his SUV into a tree and then rammed into a marked squad car.

The officer inside the car was treated and released.

Myers is in jail and his court date is set for Friday.
