Elkhart man pleads guilty to murder in Gemini's bar shooting

Defendant Cortez Wheeler pleaded guilty to the November 23, 2012 murder of Cordero Williams-El in court Monday, the day his trial was set to begin.
As part of the plea agreement, Wheeler pleaded guilty to the murder charge and a charge of unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon was dismissed.
Wheeler shot Williams El in the chest in the parking lot of Gemini's Bar and Grill in Dunlap around 2:45 a.m. November 23, 2012.
Wheeler will be sentenced April 2.
