Elkhart-native running to represent 2nd Congressional District
Jamee Decio for Congress ELKHART, Ind. -- Elkhart-native Jamee Decio is currently campaigning to become Indiana's 2nd District Congresswoman.
Decio is described as a devoted student of American history.
The front page of Decio's website goes on to state the following:
"Jamee believes our federal government must refocus on the basic needs of all Americans, instead of seeking to control Democratic-led cities. She condemns using ICE to deport undocumented immigrants who hold jobs and pay taxes. She objects to spending $1.71 billion on deportations when millions of Americans are losing Medicaid and struggling with rising costs of food, fuel and housing.
As a member of Congress, Jamee will safeguard democracy and cooperate with fellow lawmakers to restore unity and hope for everyone."
According to Decio's campaign website, she was also one of the first 325 women admitted to the University of Notre Dame.
Decio graduated from Notre Dame and went on to become a legislative aide for the House Banking Subcommittee on Consumer Affairs in Washington DC.
She then returned to Notre Dame for law school where Decio is said to have advocated for troubled youth and mentally ill at Elkhart Legal Aid.
