Elkhart Police investigating multiple incidents of shots fired

Elkhart Police responded to multiple reports of gunshots on Friday, July 29.

The first reports of shots fired happened at 1:07 a.m. in the 400 block of Harrison Street.

The victim told police he was driving on Harrison Street when a vehicle pulled up behind him and started shooting. The bullets struck the back of the victim’s vehicle causing damage to a rear window and trunk lid.

The victim also sustained scrape on his head as a result of the shooting.

The second shooting happened at 2:26 a.m. in the area of the 1500 block of West Franklin Street.

Bullets struck a residence and a vehicle parked in the area.

There were no injuries.

The third shooting happened at 11:58 p.m. Friday in the area of 502 W. Marion Street.

The victim got into an argument with four other people. During the argument, the victim was shot in the chest and hip.

The four subjects fled the area.

The victim was treated at Elkhart General Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
