Elkhart Police investigating shooting on Holiday View Drive

ELKHART, Ind. - The Elkhart Police Department is investigating a shooting on Holiday View Drive Tuesday night that injured a teenager and a dog.  

At 10:45 p.m. Tuesday, officers were called to the 1400 block of Holiday View for the shooting report.

Neighbors in the area told police they received gunfire damage to their residence.

They also said their dog received a small gash during the incident, reports said.

No other injuries were reported at that home.

When officers went to the residence where the report originated from, they found a silver Dodge Nitro parked outside with apparent gunshot damage.

The residence itself also had multiple bullet holes in it.

Residents at the home said a projectile came inside and struck a 16-year-old girl, grazing her leg, according to reports.

She was taken to get medical treatment.

No other injuries were reported at the home.

Officers collected multiple shell casings and other evidence in the area.

No arrests have been made at this time.
