Elkhart Police investigating shooting on Prairie Street

ELKHART, Ind. -- Elkhart Police are investigating a shooting that happened Friday evening in the 1600 block of Prairie Street.
Police were called to the area at 10:45 p.m. for a man with a gunshot wound to his cheek.
The victim was taken to Elkhart General Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The victim's name was not released.
Police said there were no witnesses in the case.
The investigation is ongoing.
