Elkhart Police investigating shooting with injuries

Elkhart Police are investigating a shooting that happened Thursday around 12:15 p.m.
Police were dispatched to 1108 Middlebury Street to investigate a shooting with injuries.
According to the initial investigation, the victim was at the home visiting friends. While handling a handgun, it discharged, shooting him in the leg.
The victim was taken to the hospital with a non-life threatening injury.
The investigation is ongoing.
