Elkhart police searching for bank robbery suspect

ELKHART, Ind. – The Elkhart Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a person they say was involved in a bank robbery on Friday.

At 12:53 p.m., a male entered the lobby of the 1st Source Bank at 2020 E. Bristol St. and handed a bank employee a note demanding money.

The suspect had his hand in his pocket, according to reports.

The employee adhered to his request and the suspect left the bank.

The suspect was last seen heading east on foot before getting into a dark-colored sedan.

He is described as a black male with a height between 5’11” and 6’3”.

He was last seen wearing a light-colored hoodie, tan sweatpants, and tan boots.
