Elkhart police warn about door-to-door salesmen

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. — Police in Elkhart County are telling residents to be careful when answering the door.

The sheriff's department says a group of door-to-door salesmen are targeting the Jefferson Township area.

They are trying to sell Kirby brand vacuum cleaners. And investigators say they are being overly persistent to get into people's homes.

If you have trouble with these salesmen tell them "no" and then call the Elkhart sheriff's department.
