Elkhart Redevelopment Committee moving forward to fix sidewalks

The Elkhart Redevelopment Committee is moving forward with plans to fix the sidewalks in certain sections of the city.
The Head of Community and Redevelopment Crystal Welsh explained the process of determining which sidewalks to fix.
“This review will include a specific focus on sidewalk conditions in the area as it was identified as a high priority by participants in this process. City staff will work with the community to identify areas of sidewalks within the district that will be replaced, repaired, or newly constructed in a multi-year plan to address this need,” says Welsh.
Sidewalks are just one of several projects Elkhart's Mayor Dick Moore has instructed the redevelopment committee to finish this year.
