Elkhart’s “The Christmas Miracle Project” lights up downtown

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. – “The Christmas Miracle Project” is here, and families are encouraged to venture downtown to see its holiday lights.

City leaders in Elkhart wanted to add a little more holiday magic to a year that’s been filled with challenges for all, so, with the help of volunteers and City of Elkhart departments, the city created “The Christmas Miracle Project.”

The project's goal was to drastically increase the lighting displays in different areas of downtown, like the Civic Plaza, Central Park, and the River Walk.

Families are invited to start this light walk at the Civic Plaza and take photos at the photo booth, complete with a seasonal backdrop.

Parties can then walk down the stairs to view the lights in Central Park and the River Walk on their way to the NIBCO Ice Rink.

On the way back up, the Lerner Theatre showcases its festive window lighting display.

This increase in holiday lighting was made possible by presenting sponsor Barletta Boats and their donation, which allowed the purchasing of new decorations.

Other sponsors include Alliance RV, LaVanture Products, Keybank, and the Smith Family.
