Elkhart shooting seriously injures 14-year-old

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. – Officers arrived to a 14-year-old boy seriously injured with a gunshot wound after they received reports of a shooting, the Elkhart Police Department said.

The teen was taken to the hospital due to life-threatening injuries.

Officers were dispatched to an alley behind the 1000 block of McKinley Street around 3:53 p.m. Saturday. Officers secured the scene, and detectives are called in to work this case.

Officers said there is no immediate threat to public safety. No one has been arrested at this time, according to officers.
