Police are investigating a single vehicle accident in Elkhart at the corner of Bristol Street and Wilson Avenue.

The accident happened around 5:15 A.M. Tuesday morning.

The vehicle hit a 13-year-old bicyclist from behind. The bicyclist was taken to Memorial Hospital in South Bend. His injuries are not life-threatening. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. 

The driver of the vehicle was not injured. It does not appear alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash. 

The scene cleared around 8:30 this morning. Bristol Street was closed off for nearly three hours, but is now back open to traffic.
