Elkhart student hit by car

Elkhart Police say a 12-year-old from Elkhart was hit by a car Tuesday morning while he was waiting for the bus to pick him up.

Police say Adric Combs was waiting at his bus stop around 6:45 a.m. on the south side of Roseland Rd. near Sparkling Spring Tr. when a 63-year-old driver hit him.

Police say Combs was hit with the bumper and the mirror, and was taken to Elkhart General Hospital for injuries to his left knee.

The schools' Facebook page posted in a message to parents not long after it happened that they are aware of the accident.

They added the child's parents were with the child just before the crash.
