ELKHART, Ind.--- The Elkhart Symphony Orchestra giving away free beer for a year courtesy of Goshen Brewing Company. The orchestra is having a 'Bows and Beers' fundraiser in place of its annual 'Brewfest' that was canceled in 2020 because of COVID.

"It is hard to do fundraising right now, we’re looking at other options," said Kristi Noble, VP of Development for the Elkhart Symphony Orchestra. "A lot of it is virtual."

Management at the Goshen Brewing Company say they're happy to help support the local arts.

"We just want to support local music," said Jamie Morrow, Part Owner and Tap Room Manager. "We want to support people doing good things and anything we can do to help out."

Tickets for the contest are $10 for one ticket, $50 for six and $100 for 12. The contests ends at 11:59 p.m. on February 9th with the winner to be selected on February 12th.

The winner of the raffle will be able to refill a 64 ounce growler with beer once a week for up to a year.

"We definitely have a lot of beer drinkers, so if they’re able to do this they’ll be able to know where their money’s going and that it’s a good cause," said Morrow.

Organizers are hoping Bows and Brews will not only help fund the orchestra, but also raise its profile in the Elkhart community.

"I found that partnering with them would hopefully bring the symphony back to everyone’s attention again," said Noble. "We’re still around."

"I mean it’s such a good thing to be a part of," said Morrow. "Being able to go and see a live symphony is amazing and hopefully we can get back to that at some point."
