Emge building demolished in Anderson

ANDERSON, Ind. -- A long standing Anderson landmark is finally coming down.

Crews began demolition work, on the former Emge building Monday. The meat processing plant was closed in the early 1990’s.

The city bought the building and after*many studies, officials determined that tearing the building down would be more cost-effective than repairing it.

The building has been in Anderson for more than six decades.
