ESPN College GameDay's 300th visit: Notre Dame vs Temple

PHILADELPHIA, Penn. -

The Irish hit the gridiron at Lincoln Financial Field to face off against the Temple Owls.

ESPN’s College GameDay is broadcasting from Philly for its game of the week.

They aren’t wasting any time kicking off this big day in college football.

Today is the 300th College GameDay road show.

The first show was hosted by Notre Dame back in 1993.

This is the second time the GameDay crew has set up in Philadelphia.

The first time was in 2002 for a Harvard and Penn matchup.

With a lot of buzz surrounding Saturday’s game, Head Coach Brian Kelly says his team is ready.

Earlier this week, Kelly mentioned that his team got a lot of work in at practice and the Irish are confident heading into tonight.

“We try to handle a lot of situations today and finish up a good week of preparation. The guys are excited about a great challenge, playing on national TV and a sold-out stadium,” said Kelly.

The sold out stadium holds more than 68,000 people and will be a packed house for the big game.
