Essence Spa and Salon host their first-ever 'Cut and Donate' donation event
PLYMOUTH, Ind. -- A local salon is doing their part cutting hair for a cause.
The Essence Spa and Salon is making a difference to help kids and young adults hosting their first ever ‘Cut and Donate’ from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
‘Children with Hair Loss’ is a local non-profit organization that helps kids and young adults with hair replacement at no cost facing medical related hair loss due to cancer treatment, alopecia, trichotillomania, burns and etc.
Each year, that number is increasing and with the community’s support, they provide children with wigs in the Midwest area.
Stephanie Thomas who is a client at the salon made the event come to life with the goal of getting people to come in to cut their hair to donate because the story touches home.
A young lady she knew had Alopecia and she saw the happiness that came from receiving a wig so she decided to make it her mission to help others.
And, Thomas will be donating her hair today and is encouraging the community to support this good cause.
With dedication to get many people to join her, she is also planning a free lunch for those who come out to participate by the end of the day so there are a lot of give-aways in exchange for your help in bringing smiles to a child in need.
Jessica Sliter who is the manager at the spa says they will be giving away a free 30 minute salt therapy session to those who come out to donate today.
And, if you can’t make it today, they can accommodate your needs to make it work.
All you have to do is call to schedule your appointment.
There are also other ways you can donate.
You can drop by for that cut or can donate online here on their Facebook page.
