Events happening for ND Football Friday
The Fighting Irish Football team will play at home on Saturday against the Miami Hurricanes. There are events happening on campus all weekend to get you in the football game spirit.
At 8 a.m. Friday morning "the Gug" will open for tours. Inside there people can see where Notre Dame athletes train along with trophies and other memorabilia. Stadium tours begin at 10 a.m. Both "the Gug" and stadium tours are free to the public.
11:30 a.m. a live music performance by Don Savoie will start on the Notre Dame Live Stage.
After that performance and inside the Eck Visitor's Center Auditorium from 2-3 p.m., there will be a lecture by Professor Robert Schmuhl who is the author of the book, Fifty Years with Father Hesburgh On and Off the Record. Schmuhl will talk about his encounters with Father Hesburgh through the years.
Alan Page is a former all-American, NFL Hall of Famer, and former Minnesota Supreme Court Justice. He will speak on the Notre Dame Live Stage from 3:00 to 4:00 p.m.
Notre Dame Cheerleaders and the Leprechaun will take the spotlight at 4 p.m. within the Football Fridays Plaza.
Immediately following, the Notre Dame Glee Club will perform. They are an all-male collegiate choral group.
The Notre Dame Pep Rally happens around campus at 5:45 p.m. on home game weekends. Friday it will be held at the Hesburgh Library Mall. Admission is free and a ticket is not required to attend.
Saturday morning at 10 ABC 57's Saturday Kick-off will begin and will be two straight hours of live coverage exclusive to Notre Dame football.
