PLYMOUTH, Ind. -- The Plymouth Police Department received a phone call around 8:11 a.m., Monday, regarding loud bang being heard at U.S. Granules Corporation at 1433 Western Ave.
Officers responded and found part of a silo on the ground with flames coming from the still standing section.
The Plymouth Fire Department also responded to the scene. Upon assessing the fire, it was found to be mainly embers burning.
Fire officials say after coordinating with U.S. Granules, it was determined to be detrimental to use water on the fire due to the materials inside the silo.
Fire crews then remained on scene until the fire extinguished itself, which took about an hour according to the report.
No injuries were reported.
