FACT investigating crash involving car and semi

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The St. Joseph County Fatal Crash Team is investigating a crash that happened Tuesday morning at Prairie Avenue and Cotter Street.

Investigators say a car was traveling south on Prairie Avenue when it drove through standing water, drove up a curb and struck a utility pole. It then went back into the street where it struck a northbound semi.

The driver of the car and one of his passengers suffered minor injuries. A second passenger suffered serious injuries and was taken to the hospital.

The driver of the semi was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation.
