FACT investigating fatal crash on Elm Road, victim identified

The St. Joseph County Fatal Crash Team is investigating a fatal crash that happened on Elm Road Tuesday evening.
Around 7:30 p.m., St. Joseph County Police responded to Elm and Layton roads for a crash.
The investigation revealed a pickup truck was traveling southbound on Elm Road when a minivan traveling eastbound on Layton Road failed to stop at the stop sign and collided with the pickup truck in the intersection, according to FACT.
Investigators say the driver of the pickup suffered minor injuries.
The driver of the minivan was taken to the hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
The driver who died was identified as 84-year-old Glen Robert Klopfenstein of Bremen.
FACT is continuing to investigate the crash.
