FACT investigating Sunday's fatal crash in South Bend

The Fatal Alcohol Crash Team is investigating the death of a woman who was found 30-40 feet from the car she was driving.

The South Bend Police Department was called to a single vehicle crash at Main and Indiana around 3 a.m. Sunday.

When they arrived, 33-year-old Rolando Carrillo told police his girlfriend was driving the vehicle and he couldn't find her.

Monica Bueno, 33, was found 30-40 feet from the vehicle.

She was pronounced dead at Memorial Hospital at 4:57 a.m.

Evidence at the scene corroborated Carrillo's statement that Bueno was driving at the time of the crash, according to investigators.

Investigators believe alcohol was a factor in the crash, but toxicology test results are pending.
