ABC 57

CASS COUNTY, Mich. -- The Cass County Sheriff's Office reports deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of US 12 and Fir Road in Milton Township on Sunday around 7:17 p.m.

Authorities say their investigation determined a vehicle, driven by 20-year-old Bryce Yates of Granger, failed to yield to oncoming traffic while attempting to make a left turn onto Fir Road from US 12.

The other vehicle, driven by a 22-year-old Grovertown, Ind. man, was heading east on US 12 when it crashed into Yates' vehicle.

Also in the second vehicle was a passenger, identified as a 21-yewar-old North Liberty man, who was injured and subsequently taken to South Bend Memorial Hospital.

Yates and the other driver were treated by medics on scene.

Deputies say alcohol is not believed to be a factor in this crash.

All occupants were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.

The incident remains under investigation.
