ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. – The beginning of fair week has the community excited for what’s ahead.
ABC57 asked fair goers what they’re looking forward to most throughout the week.
Jossi Mary Juarez and Alexandria Pearson were at opening day, and they’re looking forward to attending the fair throughout the week for their favorite part. “The food.” “Nelsons chicken, funnel cakes,” they said.
Vernon Blucker enjoys the fair food, but he doesn’t have a favorite. “See food. Whatever I see, I like to eat that. Burgers, fries, icecream..” Blucker joked.
But the answers aren’t always about food.
Ruby Jo Aldrich says, “The rides.”
It’s also a week for 4-H’rs to show off their hard work.
One of the leaders of the Lamb Club, Andrea Holdeman is excited for fair week to begin. “The fair is always one of the best weeks of the summer. It’s when friends and family can come together. You know participate, show their animals,” she explained.
It's a week the community embraces. “Just walkin around, seeing friends, just having a good time,” Blucker says.
