Falling bucket causes damage

SAN DIEGO -- A five gallon bucket fell from the sky in California damaging a business and half a dozen cars.

Marines outside of San Diego say it was their fault. They say one of their planes dropped a five gallon bucket of cleaning solution while in flight.

It fell through a roof, clipped the rear of a motor home, hit the ground and split. Luckily no one was hurt.

"The building was abandoned, the building was unoccupied. The owners had closed shop yesterday at four, went home and when they came in this morning to open up shop; the first person on the bay floor noticed this on the floor, looked up and saw the hole in the ceiling and obviously something occurred," said Battalion Chief Glen Holder, San Diego Fire Department.

The Marine Corps will cover the cost of all repairs.
