DOWAGIAC, Mich. -- A home on Telegraph Street was heavily damaged by fire Tuesday afternoon, according to Dowagiac Fire.

Around 2:45 p.m. a teen arrived home from school, discovered the fire and called 9-1-1.

Multiple fire departments responded to the scene and got the fire under control within 45 minutes.

The home suffered heavy fire damage on both floors.

It is believed to have originated in a downstairs bedroom, but the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The family of 6 who resides in the home are staying with family.

There were no injuries.
