Fans prepare to send off Fighting Irish seniors

The opponent may not be high profile, but some Irish fans say the senior day game is a must watch experience.

"With the seniors that we've watched the entire time, it's really celebrating them," said Chad McFarland of St.Louis.

28 players will be honored Saturday before kickoff, some going pro, some pursuing other careers.

"Spend your four years. Graduate strong,” said Sherry Firth of Chatanooga, Tennessee. “Have a focus for the future that may be beyond football if you need it."

And while they are sad to see them go, fans are filled with pride. They recognize how big of a moment it is for the players.

“That 20 minutes before the kickoff when all the families come out and the families are out there and the seniors run out there and give them the rose,” said McFarland.  “Man, that's what makes this game so awesome."
