NOW: Fans unite at ’Hall of Heroes Comic Con’ in Elkhart

ELKHART, Ind. - Local pop culture and comic book fans united at the seventh annual "Hall of Heroes Comic Con" happening in Elkhart over the weekend.

The event is being hosted at the Northern Indiana Event Center and celebrates all things comic book related.

Folks were out in full force, decked out as their favorite superheroes, villains, and comic book characters, ranging from Superman to Star Wars.

Hundreds of fans gathered to immerse themselves in various fictional worlds.

They had the chance to browse and purchase items from a variety of comic book vendors.

With over 100 vendors offering merchandise from franchises like Star Wars, G.I. Joe, Superman, and Batman, there was something for every fan to enjoy.

Even famous actors, artists, and cosplayers were there to discuss everything superhero related.

Allen Stewart, Executive Director of the Hall of Heroes Superhero Museum, says that the event has doubled in size this year, now taking place in a new, larger venue.

“We have the G.I Joe group here, we have the Ghostbusters group here, we have the Star Trek group, we have the Star Wars group, so we have all these, no matter your interest. I mean we're covering superheroes, we're covering sci-fi, we're covering anime, we're covering video games, whatever your interest is, we have it all," said Stewart.

Proceeds will go to the Hall of Heroes Superhero Museum which helps to preserve the legacy of the original creators of comic books.
