Farewell reception held for Superintendent Carole Schmidt

Thursday afternoon, South Bend Community Schools held a farewell reception for Superintendent Dr. Carole Schmidt.
Schmidt is retiring after serving the school district since 2011.
Her reception was held at IUSB.
Schmidt's replacement was named last week.
Dr. Kenneth Spells will be the district's next Superintendent.
Schmidt was previously the superintendent in Comstock, St. Joseph and Benton Harbor, Michigan.
