LA PORTE COUNTY, Ind. - One person is dead after a single-vehicle crash on State Road 2 and Old State Road 2, according to the La Porte County Sheriff's Office.

It happened Saturday morning just after 2 a.m.

The initial investigation found that a black GMC Sierra pickup truck had been traveling along State Road 2 when it left the road, drove into a deep ditch, and stopped in a field.

One person in the vehicle, identified as 55-year-old Allan M. Vanblaircom, of Valparaiso, had sustained an upper body injury.

A second person was also injured.

Vanblaircom was taken to the hospital where he later died. 

Toxicology test results are pending.
