Fatal shooting on Lake Drive in Elkhart County

ELKHART, Ind. - Police are investigating a fatal shooting involving a man in Elkhart County Monday night.
Around 7:00 p.m., deputies responded to reports of gunshots in the 26000 block of Lake Drive, according to the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office.
They arrived at the scene to find the man with gunshot wounds.
The victim, whose name is not disclosed at this time, died at the scene.
In a preliminary investigation, police believe this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public.
Detectives with the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office and the Elkhart County Homicide Unit are investigating.
