FCC asks FAA to allow electronics during takeoffs

Are the days of using airplane mode numbered?

The New York Times reports the FCC is urging the Federal Aviation Administration to allow more electronics aboard planes.

They're requesting the use of portable devices from takeoff to landing.

Passengers are currently required to turn off their electronics during takeoff even though there's been no proof that they interfere with flight services.
