The FDA is recalling hand sanitizer because some of them contain methanol, a toxic substance when absorbed through skin or ingested.
The list includes 59 varieties of hand sanitizer, all of which were produced in Mexico.
The FDA says it has seen a sharp increase in hand sanitizer products that are labeled as containing ethanol, also known as ethyl alcohol, but have tested positive for methanol instead.
