Federal judge denies Family Dollar deal again

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Late Wednesday afternoon, a federal judge once again denied the city's motion to sell the Family Dollar property to St. Joseph's High School.

The selling price was just $345,000.

U.S. District Judge Robert Miller ruled Wednesday that the city's request to sell the property for less than they bought it violates the establishment clause of the First Amendment.

The City of South Bend bought the building for $1.2 million.
