16-year-old accused of stabbing mother and two dogs at Mishawaka home

MISHAWAKA, Ind. - A woman is in critical but stable condition after police say she was stabbed by her son near Lincolnway and Oakside Avenues Friday morning. 

Police were called to the scene around 5:30 a.m. 

The 16-year-old boy was detained and is currently being held for questioning. 

Police say he also stabbed two dogs. Both are still alive and have been treated.  

An investigation into this incident is ongoing.
