Female student reported sex offense at Clay High School

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- The principal of Clay High School notified police Thursday that a student reported a sex offense that happened at the school the week before.

The alleged sex offense occurred on Wednesday, February 13.

The principal notified the School Resource Officer on February 21, that a 15-year-old female student reported the incident to the principal, according to St. Joseph County Police.

The case has been forwarded to the Department of Children and Families and to the Special Victims Unit.

South Bend Schools statement:

The school district is aware of an incident that took place at Clay High School on Feb 13, 2019. We are cooperating with DCS and law enforcement agencies to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident and the actions of all involved. We have taken appropriate measures consistent with the student code of conduct. SBCSC does not comment on student disciplinary matters.
