Fewer parents help pay for college

According to new numbers from student loan surveys, fewer families are assisting in student's educational expenses.

In 2013 a little more than 80-percent of parents said they would help pay for tuition costs.

Now that number has dropped to about 77-percent, and about one fifth of families surveyed say they do not plan on assisting at all.

This is not because they do not want to help, but because they are concerned about their own finances.
