SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The final free public lecture in Indiana University South Bend's Pop-Up University series at LangLab will take place on Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

The free and public event at LangLab on 1302 High Street in South Bend, titled "The Art of Discovery: Merging Science and Creativity" will feature a talk from Dr. Shahir Rizk and Dr. Maggie Fink.

Dr. Rizk and Dr. Fink are co-authors of The Color of North and co-hosts of the Rustbelt Science Podcast. Dr. Rizk is also a molecular biologist and professor, whereas Dr. Fink is a scholar and writer.

In this Pop-Up University, they will explore how scientific breakthroughs can emerge through creative thinking and show off the interplay between science and artistic imagination.

The event will also feature free food and drinks beforehand, other beverages available for purchase at the LangLab bar, and extended networking and conversations after the talk.
