Final radio call for Assistant Chief Jamie Middlebrook

NEW CARLISLE, Ind. -- During the funeral procession from Bethel College in Mishawaka to the New Carlisle cemetery, fire engine 91 stopped in front of the New Carlisle Fire Department for a Last Call ceremony to honor Assistant Fire Chief Jamie Middlebrook.

Residents and first responders lined the streets in New Carlisle in Middlebrooks' honor.

Fire engine 91 carried Middlebrooks' flag-draped casket.

The last radio call was an emotional moment for everyone.

Sky Pritchard, one of Jamie Middlebrooks' friends, returned home for the funeral.

“He was a really great guy. Really friendly and always cracking jokes. He had a great spirit so this is a very unexpected thing for the community and it’s very sad. I love the fact that everybody pulls together in support of him and it just shows what a great guy he was," said Pritchard.

After the last call ceremony, the procession went to the New Carlisle Cemetery for the graveside service.
