Final sections of WTC spire to be installed

NEW YORK — Construction crews are getting ready to put the finishing touches on the One World Trade Center building.

Workers will install the final two sections of a 408-foot spire Monday morning.

This will make it the tallest building in the Western hempisphere.

A stainless steel beacon will be the last piece put in place.

The addition will give the building a height of 1776 feet.

1776 is the year the U.S. declared independence from Britain.
