Fire causes heavy damage to home in Elkhart Saturday

Elkhart Fire crews responded to the scene of a heavy fire at a home in Elkhart Saturday afternoon.
The fire happened at a house in the 1400 block of Prairie Street around just after 3:00 p.m.
According to our reporting partners at The Elkhart Truth, the home suffered heavy damage and crews were clearing hot spots helping the fire die down about 30 minutes later.
No injuries have been reported. We will bring updates as they become available.
