Fire destroys childhood home of Berrien Township market owner

BERRIEN TOWNSHIP, Mich. - A fire that started early Thursday morning has destroyed a home in Berrien County.

The fire started just before 2 A.M. at the house at the intersection of Old 31 and Fairland Road in Berrien Township.

The house is owned by Villwock's Farm Market.

Owner Don Villwock says this was his childhood home, and his mother had lived there until she passed away recently.

He says all of his childhood mementos are gone.

No one was hurt.

Investigators are looking for the cause.
