Fire destroys Osceola family business
House of Bounce Party Rentals in Osceola was torn apart and burnt to the ground by a massive fire late Sunday night, leaving devastating damage just as the business was gearing up for its peak season.
Monday was supposed to be the start of a very busy week for the business with graduations and other end of the year school parties but instead the owners of House of Bounce Party Rentals are waking up to a devastating reality.
Late Sunday night, the Laskowski family was just finishing dinner inside their home, only a few feet away from where their business, House of Bounce, was destroyed.
Owner Greg Laskowski says just after 10 p.m. Sunday night, a family member spotted smoke coming from the overhead door of his steel pole barn on South Beech Rd.
Heavy flames destroyed the 8-year-old business which contained everything from machines and equipment, to twenty inflatables.
By the time fire crews arrived the party rental business was gone.
“I don’t even know what time it was we got back from doing some of our rental pickups this evening, went into eat a little bit, came out ready to put stuff away and we noticed there was smoke coming out from overhead door, couldn’t open door, opener wouldn’t work then there was something electric going on just called 911, within a matter of minutes it was gone,” said Laskowski.
The home where Laskowski and his family live, just feet away from the fire, was untouched and nobody was hurt.
The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation.
