Suspect in SWAT incident in critical condition from police gunfire
ELKHART, Ind. – A fire broke out at an apartment complex on Locust Street in Elkhart Wednesday afternoon, according to dispatch.
A call came in at 2:58 p.m. reporting the apartment fire, located near County Road 7 and W. Bristol Street.
Officials confirmed that two firefighters were treated at the scene before being released; one for exhaustion and the other for smoke inhalation.
According to dispatch, the fire is now under control but firefighters are still on scene.
