Fire reported on Middlebury Street in Elkhart

Firefighters responded to a house fire at 1144 Middlebury Street in Elkhart Wednesday just after 5 p.m.
Middlebury Street was blocked off to traffic while firefighters fought the fire.
The fire started in a bedroom of a disabled child. The child was safely evacuated from the home.
The damage was mainly contained to the bedroom.
The fire was quickly extinguished.
There were no injuries reported.
