After closure in 2020, YMCA reopens in downtown
ELKHART, Ind.—Firefighters batted a house fire in Elkhart on Thursday morning, but it has since been extinguished.
The fire broke out around 9:45 a.m. at a home in the 60300 block of County Road 15 in Elkhart, according to dispatch.
According to officials, everyone was evacuated from the home and were kept warm at a neighbor’s home.
The house's garage was damaged in the fire.
A Concord school bus responded to the scene as a warming shelter for firefighters.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
