NOW: Firefighters called to Popeyes on Lincolnway
NEXT:

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Firefighters responded to the Popeyes restaurant on Lincolnway around 2:15 a.m.

The road was blocked while crews were on scene, with heavy smoke but no flames visible from the outside.

It's unclear if anyone was inside the building or if there are any injuries.
