First AARP Age-Friendly listening session to focus on outdoor spaces November 4

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The City of South Bend and St. Joseph County are hosting a listening session on November 4 to discuss the needs of older adult residents in the area. This first listening session will focus on outdoor spaces and buildings.

The listening session is part of South Bend's Regional AARP Age-Friendly Initiative, which focuses on assessing and improving the city's friendliness to residents and visitors of all ages, according to its website.

Outdoor spaces and buildings are one of AARP's designated 8 Domains of Livability.

South Bend Mayor James Mueller, County Commissioner Deborah Fleming, and more officials will attend the session.

Those interested in hearing what city and county leaders will share can attend the session from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Charles Martin Youth Center, located at 802 Lincolnway W.

Coffee and donuts will be provided for attendees.
